Albaugh has launched several products for Brazilian citrus, such as Flumioxazin and Bifenthrin

2024-06-28

North American-based Albaugh has launched a series of new herbicides and insecticides for citrus cultivation in the Brazilian market, aiming to further expand its product portfolio in this sector and meet specific agricultural needs.

In particular, Albaugh has formed a technical team consisting of the Citrus Regional division, which is focused on providing customized solutions for the citrus industry. Through intensive research and development, Albaugh successfully introduced two new herbicides: Azteca (Sulfentrazone) and Joya (Flumioxazin).

Azteca, as a pre-emergence herbicide, is recommended for the control of a variety of weeds in citrus gardens, such as amaranthus retroflexus, sticktight, sandspur, Commelina benghalensis, Bermuda grass and crab grass, to ensure the healthy growth of citrus crops. Joya, on the other hand, is a selective, non-endogenous herbicide that can be applied before and after emergence to effectively control weeds such as :altemanthera paronychioides, euphorbia heterophylla, galinsoga parviflora, purslane and solanum americanum, providing citrus growers with more weed control options.

In the field of insecticides, Ariete (Bifenthrin) introduced by Albaugh provides a new solution for the control of citrus pests with its dual action mode of exposure and ingestion. The product is particularly suitable for the control of pests such as Brevipalpus phoenicis and Panonychus citri McGregor, further enhancing Albaugh's product line in the field of citrus pest control.

Albaugh said the company continues to invest in the development of its citrus product portfolio, which currently meets the primary needs of producers in controlling mites, pests and weeds.
