Philippines' Halal Food Export Plan Stalls, Trade Activity with Five Countries at Risk of Being Scuppered!
As reported by the Business Mirror on August 22, the Halal Industry Development Department of the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially announced an ambitious plan. The program aims to promote the further expansion of the Philippine halal food export market by holding a series of international trade events. Specifically, the Philippines plans to host five major international trade events in five countries: ABU Dhabi, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Thailand.
The five events will be held in Malaysia in September, Saudi Arabia in October, Turkey in November and the United Arab Emirates in November, before concluding in Thailand in December. In these activities, the Philippines will focus on promoting its diverse halal food products, including coffee, cocoa, chocolate, fresh fruits, snacks and herbal drinks. These products not only represent the Philippines' rich food resources, but also showcase its unique advantages in the halal food sector.
In addition to these international trade events, the Philippines is also planning to host the first Philippine Halal Expo from November 14 to 16. This event will provide a platform for Philippine halal food to be displayed and communicated, further enhancing its visibility in the international market. In addition, to strengthen the development of the domestic halal industry, the Philippines will also host the seventh Philippine National Halal Congress on November 12-13. The conference will bring together industry experts, business representatives and government officials to discuss the development trends and cooperation opportunities in the halal industry.
Through this series of international trade events and fairs, the Philippines not only hopes to expand its halal food export market, but also hopes to strengthen cooperation with other countries in the halal industry and jointly promote the development of the global halal industry.
