Symrise acquires majority stake in Probi
Symrise has acquired approximately 90.2% of Probi shares. The flavors and fragrances company announced a public offer and has acquired an additional 321,620 shares in Probi (equivalent to 2.8% of Probi's issued capital and voting rights) on the market for a maximum price of SEK 350.
Probi's largest shareholders after Symrise, Fjarde AP-fonden and Moneta Asset Management, have both committed to accept Symrise's offer for approximately 17.7% of issued capital and voting rights. The acceptance period is expected to start around December 18, 2024 and end around January 15, 2025.
In a statement, Symrise revealed: "Symrise is Probi's largest shareholder and has been a shareholder since 2012. Through its active participation, Symrise has a deep knowledge and understanding of Probi, its operations and the markets in which it operates. Symrise has long believed in Probi because the company has very attractive products that allow people around the world to enjoy the health benefits of probiotics and has an excellent global team. Symrise believes that under the leadership of the Symrise Group, Probi has great potential to rise to the next level and become a key driver of Symrise's strategy to focus on health."
