Symrise opens new office and lab in Beijing to expand northern market
To enhance its R&D capabilities, customer intimacy and market influence in northern China, German flavor and fragrance manufacturer Symrise has opened a new food and beverage office and lab facility in Beijing.
Symrise said it has invested 1.5 million euros in Beijing, and the new 800-square-meter plant includes 250 square meters of office space, 400 square meters of advanced laboratories and 150 square meters of administrative offices. The laboratory includes dedicated beverage and dairy production areas, application areas, salty food production areas, and snack and condiment production areas, each with dedicated workstations and evaluation rooms.
Walter Ribeiro, global president of Symrise Food and Beverage, said: "China is an important market for Symrise because its consumer base in food and beverage applications is dynamic and growing rapidly. Therefore, we have expanded our Beijing plant to significantly enhance our R&D capabilities."
The facility also adds more resources to the company's main laboratory in Shanghai, ensuring continued support and resource optimization.
Robert Marti, Vice President of Symrise Food & Beverage North Asia, added: “This strategic positioning enhances our ability to innovate and launch new products targeting Chinese consumers. It also strengthens our collaboration with local food and beverage producers.”
