Runaya and Eckart to build eco-aluminium powder plant
Eckart, a member of Altana and a global manufacturer in the effect pigments market, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Runaya, a pioneer in sustainable manufacturing whose product portfolio is aligned with global technology leaders.
A new plant is being built in Odisha, India, to produce the most sustainable spherical atomised aluminium particles. The demand for these products is high growth not only in India but also in the global market, catering to high-end applications such as aerospace, solar panels and high-value effect pigments.
The joint venture will use recycled aluminium and renewable energy for production, targeting Indian growth markets and leveraging India’s position as a global hub for advanced manufacturing. In addition, Runaya and Eckart have signed a memorandum of understanding to produce high-quality aluminium pigments.
“The success that Runaya has achieved by establishing sustainable production processes is impressive,” commented Christian Przybyla, President of Eckart. “By pooling our expertise in this growth market in India, we hope to drive innovation and create long-term value for our customers.”
“This collaboration will be a game-changer in our pursuit of a circular economy,” added Naivedya Agarwal, Managing Director and Co-founder of Runaya. “It not only transforms the aluminum industry, but also demonstrates the power of global alliances in addressing environmental challenges. By redefining the aluminum powder space, we are setting a new global benchmark for green manufacturing.”
