Color and Personal Care Giant Sensient Acquires White Biotechnology Expert Biolie to Expand Active Color Product Portfolio
Sensient Technologies Corporation, a global supplier of color and personal care applications, has acquired French raw material manufacturer Biolie, which specializes in developing white biotechnology for natural cosmetic ingredients and has a clean solvent-free enzyme extraction technology for natural ingredients.
The acquisition was completed on February 14, 2025. Sensient said that the combination with Bioli's technical capabilities will create unparalleled color manufacturing expertise in the global cosmetics market.
Mike Geraghty, president of Sensient Colors, said: "We are very excited about the strategic fit between the two companies, which consolidates our global leadership in providing natural, sustainable active ingredients and colors to the personal care industry."
The acquisition also expands Sensient's manufacturing and innovation footprint in France. It is said that the integration of Biolie's technology will strengthen Sensient's commitment to natural and environmentally friendly innovation. Together, the two companies are committed to redefining the standards for active colors and sustainable personal care solutions, providing formulators with powerful tools to meet consumer needs.
