Syngenta (Australia), a global leader in plant health, and Metagen, an agricultural biotechnology company based in Queensland's Lockyer Valley, have announced a collaboration to develop innovative biological solutions to enhance the resilience of a wide range of crops while also contributing to soil health.

The joint project will leverage Syngenta's expertise in crop protection and seed treatment technologies, as well as Metagen's cutting-edge technology in microbial solutions and soil microbial DNA assessment, to develop new products to promote sustainable agricultural production.

Syngenta (Australia), a leading global plant health company, has formed a strategic partnership with Metagen to develop new technologies that will help farmers improve crop yields while improving the environment in which they grow.

Paul Luxton, Syngenta's General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: "We are delighted to be working with Metagen to develop innovative solutions that will help farmers increase productivity while improving the growing environment for their crops. This collaboration demonstrates our common ground in scientific innovation, our commitment to sustainable agriculture, and the need for collaboration in industry innovation. We believe collaboration is key to driving innovation in our industry and ensuring that the next generation of biologics is available to farmers.

Metagen founder Shane Fitzgerald said: Over the past 10 years, Metagen has continuously expanded its research by employing experts in chemistry, engineering, agronomy, microbiology, DNA analysis, bioinformatics and intelligent computing to develop sustainable and innovative technologies to improve profitability and sustainability for its customers.

Dr Neil Wilson, Head of research at Metagen, added: "Our innovative technology has the potential to revolutionise agriculture, improving soil health and plant growth. We look forward to working with Syngenta so that more farmers can benefit."

Syngenta Australia's collaboration with Metagen is an important step towards sustainable agriculture and highlights the importance of collaboration for innovation in the industry.
