BASF Expands Raw Material Portfolio for Concrete Superplasticizers
With Pluriol A 2400 I, BASF’s Industrial Formulations division has expanded its portfolio of reactive polyethylene glycols for polycarboxylate ethers (PCEs) for the European construction industry.
Pluriol A 2400 I is an isoprenol-polyethylene glycol (iPEG) for the production of third-generation superplasticizers with improved performance in terms of flow properties and durability.
“As the only European supplier, we offer our customers reliable delivery and raw material independence with our backward-integrated production process for Pluriol® A 2400 I, while contributing to reducing CO2 emissions through local sourcing,” said Jordi Tormo, Vice President Business Management, Industrial Formulations, BASF.
In the construction industry, iPEGs have a wide range of applications. In addition to their use as raw materials for superplasticizers or flow agents in concrete admixtures, they can also be used as raw materials for the production of inorganic pigment dispersants.
