Gelest, a Mitsubishi Chemical Group Company, Invests in Specialty Materials Production Facility in the United States

Gelest, a Mitsubishi Chemical Group Company, recently announced the opening of a new 50,000 square foot production facility at its global headquarters in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, USA. This will increase Gelest's production capabilities and support customer applications ranging from microelectronics and medical devices to advanced thermal coatings and mobility.

Edward Kimble, Senior Business Director and General Manager of Gelest, said: "We will focus on the development and production of precursor chemicals for dry resist EUV lithography technology to ensure a stable supply. The completion of the new plant marks Gelest's progress in increasing production capacity to meet the growing demand for specialty materials in advanced markets, especially microelectronics and medical devices."

The new plant's equipment is used to analyze, package and mass-produce highly specialized chemicals to support advanced technology markets. To ensure product quality and chemical purity, the plant is equipped with a 3,000 square foot ISO Class 7 clean room with advanced analytical instruments.

"This plant demonstrates Mitsubishi Chemical's commitment to innovation and support for the critical materials supply chain for current and next-generation materials and applications in the U.S. and around the world," said Jonathan Goff, vice president of Mitsubishi Chemical's Advanced Solutions business.

The new production facility solidifies Gelest's continued expansion in Morrisville, where the company was established in 2001 and currently houses production, research and development, and administrative operations.
