China National Offshore Oil Corporation Completes Hong Kong's Largest LNG Bunkering Operation 4300 Tons Delivered
Recently, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced the successful completion of Hong Kong's largest-ever single LNG bunkering operation. The “Offshore Oil 301”, the world’s largest LNG bunkering vessel, supplied 4,300 tons of LNG to the German container ship “Hanoi Express” at Kwai Tsing Container Terminal. This milestone significantly enhances Hong Kong’s capacity to support ship fuel supply services.
This operation marked Hong Kong’s first LNG bunkering at a container terminal and the first simultaneous fuel bunkering and cargo handling operation in the city. The “Offshore Oil 301”, China’s first and the world’s largest LNG bunkering vessel, executed the task seamlessly.
During the process, the vessel transported LNG from CNOOC’s Jinwan Green Energy Port in Guangdong, navigated through the Pearl River Delta, and arrived in Hong Kong. The operation was a result of the integrated energy supply chain of the Greater Bay Area, ensuring a seamless resource reload-transportation-bunkering process.
This breakthrough demonstrates Hong Kong’s growing capability in clean energy fuel supply, setting a benchmark for future LNG bunkering operations in the region.
