Léa Nature Acquires Berdoues to Enter the Fragrance Market

ECHEMI 2025-07-17

French company Compagnie Léa Nature continues its external growth strategy with the acquisition of a controlling stake in Berdoues Parfums et Cosmétiques, a family group based in Toulouse.

Compagnie Léa Nature, a leader in organic and natural products, is making a bold move into the fragrance market. As a strategic move, the company acquires 60% of the Berdoues Group, previously owned by Bpifrance and investment funds GSO Capital and Multicroissance.

Already a giant in the food, personal care, health and home care sectors, Léa Nature is now accelerating its growth by adding fragrance expertise to its portfolio. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Berdoues Parfums et Cosmétiques has nearly 100 employees and revenues of €20 million in 2024. According to a Léa Nature press release, fourth-generation family member and current CEO Sophie Berdoues-Coudouy will retain a significant stake and continue to play an active role in the company's governance.

Compagnie Léa Nature has 2,000 employees and operates 20 production sites across France. In 2024, the company reported revenues of €498 million.

Founded in 1902 and headquartered in Toulouse, the Berdoues Group is an iconic brand in the French perfume and cosmetics industry. The Group's brands are developed and distributed both in mass market channels (Les Petits Plaisirs, Blondépil) and in high-end beauty retail channels (Berdoues, IKKS Parfums).

With this transaction, Léa Nature is expanding into select retail channels while strengthening its position in natural and responsible beauty products in mass distribution.

Charles Kloboukoff, President and founder of Compagnie Léa Nature, said: "The merger with the Berdoues Group is a natural fit as it perfectly combines the activities and expertise of our two companies. We will benefit in particular from Berdoues' long-standing expertise in the field of natural flavors."
