80 Percent Beat Expectations 2025 H1 Earnings Previews Show China’s Chemical Sector Rebounds

ECHEMI 2025-07-17

As of July 10, 146 A-share listed companies have released 2025 first-half performance forecasts, with nearly 80% posting positive outlooks—including 21 chemical firms expecting robust growth. The sector is showing strength in key segments such as refrigerants, agrochemicals, and innovative pharmaceuticals.

Refrigerant leaders like Juhua, Haohua, and Yonghe all project earnings increases, thanks to tighter production quotas for HCFCs and ongoing HFC management policies, combined with steady demand. This has driven a steady recovery in fluorinated refrigerant prices.

Agrochemical prices are also soaring, with clethodim prices hitting record highs—orders have exceeded 160,000 yuan per ton. Industry leaders like XianDa expect net profits to surge 24–28 times year-on-year, while Lier Chemical and Jiangshan Chemical are forecasting net profit jumps of up to 196% and 111%, respectively, fueled by rising sales and prices.

Peptide pharmaceuticals are another highlight: Syno Biotech expects net profit growth of up to 332%, and Notai Bio projects a 32–45% jump, as overseas business and innovation drive results.

Analysts say the chemical sector is showing early signs of recovery, with supply-demand fundamentals improving. Several chemical stocks have hit new highs in the first half, drawing strong market attention. With supply-side reforms on the horizon, leading companies are expected to capture more market share through improved management and energy efficiency.
