ECHEMI 2025-08-15

August 13th News

According to the commodity market analysis system: In early August, the palm oil market in China saw a significant upward trend. On August 1st, the average market price of palm oil was 8,992 CNY/ton, and by August 13th, it had risen to 9,522 CNY/ton, representing a price increase of 5.89%.

Bullish factors drive continuous rise in palm oil prices in China

In early August, the palm oil market saw an upward trend. The main factors were positive for Malaysian palm oil. During the period from August 1-10, 2025, Malaysian palm oil exports increased by 23.3% month-over-month. Starting from August 10, strong external demand for palm oil led to a significant rise in prices, with three consecutive days of gains. The Chinese palm oil futures market also heated up, with the Dalian palm oil futures closing at 9,490 CNY/ton on August 13, up 156 CNY/ton, and the futures price continued to rise. The spot market followed the upward trend. By August 13, the average market price of palm oil exceeded 9,500 CNY/ton, an increase of more than 400 CNY/ton compared to the beginning of the month.

Palm oil analysts believe: In the late August, terminal oil demand remains weak, and as major producing countries, including China, are in the production increase period, the palm oil market may experience a correction in the future.
