Cambodia’s fresh durian can now be air-shipped directly to China, a development hailed by local growers as a major breakthrough for quality and market reach. Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin highlighted that 16 Cambodian agricultural products—including rice, bananas, mangoes, coconut, pepper, cashews, and now durian—are approved for export to China, reflecting robust economic ties and tangible results from bilateral cooperation.

From January to June, Cambodia exported 7.8 million tons of farm goods to 78 countries, up 27.66% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. Rice exports surpassed 3.1 million tons, milled rice 380,000 tons, while other cash crops accounted for 4.2 million tons.

Total export revenue in the first half exceeded $2.87 billion, with paddy rice bringing in $638 million, milled rice $307 million, and other crops $1.93 billion. These figures spotlight Cambodia’s booming agriculture sector and underscore the Chinese market’s critical role in driving growth.
