Recent EVA Market Prices Slightly Increased in China
September 1st News
Recently (August 25 to September 1), the EVA market in China has shown a slight increase. According to the commodity price analysis system, as of September 1, the benchmark price of EVA in China was 11,066 CNY/ton, an increase of 1.53% from 10,900 CNY/ton on August 25. On one hand, the downstream demand for EVA has improved, but on the other hand, there is still resistance to high-priced supplies, limiting the overall price increase in the EVA market.
Recently (August 25 to September 1), the EVA operating rate has increased to over 85%, with some previously shut down units resuming operations, leading to an increase in EVA market supply pressure. During this period, the price of ethylene, a raw material, has risen, while the price of vinyl acetate has slightly decreased, still providing support to EVA costs. As of September 1, the price of ethylene from Sinopec in East China was 7,150 CNY/ton, up 1.42% from 7,050 CNY/ton on August 25; as of September 1, the market price of vinyl acetate in East China was 5,200 CNY/ton, down 1.42% from 5,275 CNY/ton on August 25.
Recently, EVA demand has improved, with short-term photovoltaic demand support increasing. The foam sector is maintaining essential demand, but downstream players are still resistant to high-priced supplies. Traders are holding stocks cautiously and operating according to market conditions, with the market continuing to explore price increases while remaining stable.
Looking ahead, raw material prices are expected to show mixed trends overall. While EVA production remains at high levels, putting continued pressure on supply, downstream sectors like photovoltaics and foam industries will likely provide steady demand support. As the traditional peak season approaches, we anticipate that spot EVA market prices may tentatively rise in the coming period.
