October Activated Carbon Prices First Rise, Then Fall

According to the commodity market analysis system: At the beginning of the month, the price of activated carbon was 12,766 CNY/ton, and at the end of the month, it was 12,633 CNY/ton, a decrease of 1.04%.

Chinese activated carbon factory prices have fallen this month. The factory price for coconut shell water purification activated carbon (iodine value 1000) is between 11,000 and 13,500 CNY per ton. Demand for coconut shell activated carbon in traditional fields such as water treatment and air purification continues to grow, but high prices are limiting transaction enthusiasm, and the activated carbon market transactions are below expectations.

As expansion plans take hold in major producing countries like Indonesia and the Philippines, coupled with the growing adoption of alternative raw material technologies, prices are expected to decline. Currently, however, raw material supplies remain tight: Southeast Asia's key production regions have experienced reduced coconut yields due to natural disasters and shifts in planting strategies, leading to a shortage of carbonized materials. Meanwhile, an increasing number of processing companies operating at the source are intensifying competition, further driving up raw material costs.

Prediction: High prices of coconut shell activated carbon in China are limiting transactions, and it is expected that the price of activated carbon will mainly fluctuate in the short term.
