Vermont Natural Coatings and Norton Abrasives Release New Amber Sealer

Vermont Natural Coatings, in partnership with Norton Abrasives, has launched Amber Sealer as the latest addition to its co-branded line of PolyWhey Professional Wood Floor products. PolyWhey Amber Sealer uses the strength of whey protein, a byproduct of cheesemaking, to create a natural oil-tone waterborne sealer for hardwood floors.

“Amber Sealer is an exciting addition to the Norton Abrasives | Vermont Natural Coatings line because it allows professional flooring contractors to achieve the look oil-based finishes offer without sacrificing the safety and health of their employees or their clients,” said Andrew Meyer, president of Vermont Natural Coatings.

Amber Sealer can be applied over bare or prefinished wood and dries in less than two hours. It is easy to apply, sands effortlessly and minimizes grain raise and tannin pull. Followed by two to three coats of PolyWhey 2500 or 3500 Wood Floor Finish, the end result is an oil-look floor with outstanding resistance to all forms of wear.

After extensive in-field testing we are quite pleased with the tone and color achieved with just one coat of the sealer. You can also build on that color by applying multiple coats to get a more customized look.
