Two Japanese factories announced the price increase of BPA, the domestic BPA market rose sharply yesterday

ECHEMI 2021-08-20

On August 16, Nippon Steel Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. announced that it would increase the price of bisphenol A, the upstream raw material of PC (polycarbonate) and epoxy resin, by 25 yen/kg (about 1473 yuan) from September 1st. /Ton) above.

On August 2, Nippon Steel Chemical just raised the price of epoxy resin by 65 yen/kg (about 3823 CNY/ton) or more.

In addition, on July 26, Mitsubishi Chemical also announced that it will increase the price of bisphenol A (BPA) starting on August 20, with an increase of more than 20 yen/kg (about 1176 CNY/ton).

It's not just that foreign bisphenol A factories announced price increases, but the domestic price of bisphenol A has remained high for a long time, and prices have maintained a "small drop and big increase" trend.

This week, Zhejiang Petrochemical's second-brand bisphenol A bidding price started from 26,000, and the premium was 1,150 CNY/ton after 7 rounds. Supported by this good news, the market is quite upbeat. On August 19, the domestic price of bisphenol A soared to around 28,000 CNY/ton, a single-day increase of 800 CNY/ton.

Biphenol A has soared, the epoxy resin market will inevitably go up, and a new round of price increases is coming. Can the downstream be calm?
