1. Givaudan expands spice production in Mexico


Recently, Givaudan of Switzerland announced an investment of 75 million Swiss francs (approximately US$82 million) to expand its PedroEscobedo production facility in Mexico.

 

The company said that the expansion of Givaudan's fragrance and beauty business will further support its growth in various market segments in Latin America. It is reported that the expansion project is planned to be completed and put into operation at the end of 2023. The factory will be equipped with optimized automation equipment to achieve high precision and high efficiency.

 


2. Rheinland Bio: Natural sugar-free sweetener business is growing rapidly

 

Rheinland Bio (002166.SZ) released the "2021 Semi-annual Report". During the reporting period, the company achieved operating income of 453 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 61.36%; net profit attributable to the parent was 59,625,600 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.75%; net profit attributable to the parent after deduction was 35,228,300 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.51%.

 

Rhein Biotechnology is mainly engaged in the production and operation of natural health products. The main products are Luo Han Guo extract, stevia extract and other natural plant extract products, as well as natural Chinese herbal medicine extract products.

 

In the first half of 2021, Rheinland Bio's plant extraction business ushered in rapid development, achieving operating income of 428 million yuan, an increase of 74.69% over the same period of the previous year, and net profit an increase of 32.51% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, the natural sugar-free sweetener business achieved operating income of 264 million yuan, accounting for 61.64% of the company's plant extraction business operating income, an increase of 66.37% over the same period last year.

 

 

3. Huaye Perfume Interim Report: Net profit dropped by more than 43%, butyl lactone revenue doubled

 

Huaye Spices released its 2021 semi-annual report on August 27. The company's operating income in the first half of the year was 122 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.81%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 14.256 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 43.04%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 11.63 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 44.73%. Basic earnings per share is 0.1912 yuan.

 

The financial report shows that in the first half of 2021, Huaye Perfume's propyl lactone revenue was 102 million yuan, a decrease of 4.27% year-on-year, while the butyl lactone revenue was 13.8582 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 107.66%.
