In order to explore the hazards of volatile organic compounds in waterborne coatings, it is necessary to grasp the meaning and characteristics of waterborne coatings and volatile organic compounds. The water-borne coatings mentioned in this paper refer to all coatings which use water as solvent or dispersing medium. At present, it is also a relatively new type of paint in the paint market. The reason why this kind of paint is widely used is that it has the advantages of good surface adaptability, strong adhesion, good parallelism, saving a lot of resources and reducing atmospheric environmental pollution. Therefore, water-borne coatings may be an important development direction of the paint market in the future. It is necessary to study it. The World Health Organization defines volatile organic compounds as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at ambient temperatures with boiling temperatures ranging from 50 to 260 degrees Celsius. According to its chemical structure, it can be divided into alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, aldehydes and other categories. At present, more than 300 species have been identified, which is quite astonishing. Indoor, too high concentration of volatile organic compounds will Lead to many safety problems, the most likely is to cause acute poisoning, to a higher degree may be serious to coma, convulsions and even damage the internal organs, brain and nervous system, resulting in the decline of human brain memory and other serious consequences. In the severe cases, liver poisoning and even coma may occur, which may bring danger to human life. These hazards can not be ignored. The hazards of volatile organic compounds in waterborne coatings.

In recent years, with the continuous development of the decoration market, consumers have more and more demands for all kinds of aggravation. In order to meet the needs of consumers, producers have neglected various preventive measures, resulting in more and more problems in furniture. Among these problems, indoor environmental pollution is particularly serious. View, because indoor environmental pollution has endangered human health, but also more and more attention by the public consumption concept. Nowadays, consumers have high requirements for the brightness matching of various colors in the process of decoration. Water-borne coatings are one of the important elements that can meet consumers'needs. There are various volatile organic compounds in water-borne coatings. The main components of these organic compounds are hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, nitrogen hydrocarbons and oxygen hydrocarbons. They themselves contain a variety of compounds. In addition to heavy metals, there are also volatile organic compounds such as FORMALDEHYDE, ethylene glycol esters, Ammonia and so on. When people live in rooms full of such substances, the consequences may be unimaginable. So what should we do in the face of such a situation of both demand and harm? The author believes that although such hazards can not be definitely eliminated, they can be prevented and controlled, and the following methods can be used to minimize the hazards as far as possible.

In the past two years, under the requirements of environmental protection and emission reduction, water-borne coatings have been used more and more in our surface painting construction. Water-borne coatings, as its name implies, are a kind of coatings that can be dissolved in water, while oil-borne coatings, i.e. solvent-based coatings, do not dissolve in water when passing through hydrocyclone venturi and curtain cabinet, are suspended or diffused in water, while water-borne coatings dissolve in water The suspension or diffusion of oily coatings also produces wastewater in water, but the two wastewater treatment processes and treatment principles are different. Oily coatings wastewater treatment is a mature physical process, which is better handled. Water-borne coatings wastewater dissolves in water. At present, the physical process of treating this wastewater is membrane reverse osmosis process, and membrane reverse osmosis process is more complex. And the cost is very high, if the chemical method is more expensive and brings a lot of trouble. That is to say, waterborne paint is used in the painting process, dry spraying process should be used in the painting room, dry filter interception is used in the discharge port, solid substances such as pigments, titanium dioxide, liquid substances such as water-borne resin functional groups are intercepted thoroughly, and the content of non-methane total hydrocarbons in the exhaust gas of the discharge port must be less than 20mg/m, because 80% of waterborne paint diluent is water, good. 95% of waterborne coatings are water. 20%-5% of the solvents are alcohols, a small part of ethers and very few additives. The additives are designed to change the surface tension of water-borne resins and increase the adhesion of water-borne coatings. Therefore, it is suggested that enterprises preparing to use waterborne coatings in the later stage should build dry coating lines. Primer, midway and color paint lines should not use zeolite runners to reduce losses when changing water-borne coatings. Zeolite runner can be considered for varnishing line, because water-borne varnishing can not be realized in a short time for surface varnishing. In order to reduce construction cost and equipment volume, dry spraying is the direction of development. Whether the pretreatment of painting exhaust gas treatment is the most important thing to meet the current environmental protection situation, and the selection of treatment equipment is not the best, only the most reasonable. Enterprises are conditional to do automatic spraying, must do return air treatment, and return air treatment pretreatment also needs to be thoroughly solved. In addition, in order to further reduce the wind resistance, the layout of pipelines and the selection of fans, it plays a decisive role in whether the products of painting process meet the production requirements. Therefore, the layout of pipelines and the selection of fans must be carefully calculated and carefully selected.
