Zhang Jianhua's visit to Britain intends to accelerate cooperation projects

From June 16 to 20, National Energy Administration Director Zhang Jianhua visited the UK to participate in the 10th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue. He co-chaired the 6th China-UK Energy Dialogue with Greg Clark, Minister of Commerce, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and exchanged in-depth views on future energy, market reform, trade and investment.

Both sides agreed that strengthening pragmatic cooperation in the field of energy is of great significance for deepening the development of the "golden age" of Sino-British relations. As the main energy producer and consumer in the world, China and Britain are facing common opportunities and challenges in the field of clean energy transformation. The two sides are willing to continue to expand practical cooperation in the field of clean energy, accelerate cooperation projects in civil nuclear energy, offshore wind power and other fields, jointly develop third-party markets, and promote China-UK energy cooperation to achieve new and greater achievements in the new era. Under the witness of the leaders of both sides, Zhang Jianhua and Clark signed the Work Plan for the Implementation of the Sino-British Partnership on Clean Energy from 2019 to 2020, confirming the strengthening of cooperation in clean energy technology, clean energy transformation path, system reform and international governance and cooperation. During the period, Zhang Jianhua attended the launching ceremony of the China Energy Project of the British Prosperity Fund, investigated a series of nuclear power projects such as the Sino-Canton Nuclear Power Corporation, Cape Hinkley C, UK, and listened to the progress report of the project, and put forward guidance for the next work. During the visit to Britain, the State Energy Administration and the British Ministry of Commerce, Energy and Industry Strategy jointly organized the fifth meeting of the China-UK Working Group on Civil Nuclear Energy Cooperation and the meeting of the China-UK Maritime Wind Power Industry Steering Committee. More than 100 representatives from government departments and enterprises of both sides participated in the meeting.
