Amazon Announces 1-for-20 stock Split to Buy Back up to $10 Billion in Stock

Beijing time March 10 morning news, Amazon (2785.58, 65.29, 2.40%) announced a stock split, which is the first time since the Internet bubble Amazon split shares. Amazon told investors that every 1 share of stock split into 20 shares.
At the same time, Amazon announced a buyback of up to $10 billion in shares.

If split at Wednesday's closing price, which became $139.28 after the split due to a closing price of $2,785.58, existing shareholders who own 1 share of stock will own 20 shares after the split.
In February, Google (2677.32, 131.75, 5.18%) split its shares, also turning 1 share into 20. in mid-2020, Apple (162.95, 5.51, 3.50%) split 1 share into 4. last year, Tesla (858.97, 34.57, Tesla (858.97, 34.57, 4.19%) also split 1 share into 5 shares last year.
Splitting shares doesn't change the underlying position of the company; it simply lowers the threshold for stock purchase.
