Total investment of over RMB 55 billion! BASF (Guangdong) integration project environmental assessment public announcement!
On March 15, 2022, BASF released the second public participation announcement on the environmental impact assessment of BASF (Guangdong) integration project.
Project name: BASF (Guangdong) Integration Project
Construction Location: Petrochemical Industrial Park, Donghai Island, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province
Nature of construction: New construction
Total investment: RMB 55.362 billion
Construction period: According to the construction content of the project, construction is planned to start in the first quarter of 2022, and the project will be ready for operation in the third quarter of 2025, with a total construction period of about 42 months.
Construction content: 1 million tonnes/year combined ethylene (CRC) plant (including steam cracking, selective hydrogenation of carbon tetra, cracked gasoline hydrogenation, aromatics extraction, isobutene extraction and PSA, etc.), 660,000/830,000 tonnes/year ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) plant (including 200,000 tonnes/year refined ethylene oxide (PEO)), 215,000 tonnes/year non-ionic surfactant (NIS) plant, 500,000 tonnes/year polyethylene (PEO) plant and 500,000 tonnes/year PEO plant.
(PE) plant, 500,000 t/a polyethylene (PE) plant, 2 x 190,000 t/a glacial acrylic acid 1&2 (GAA1&2) plants, 375,000 t/a butyl acrylate (nBA) plant, 100,000 t/a isooctyl acrylate (2-EHA) plant, 500,000 t/a butyl alcohol (OXO-C4) plant, 50,000 bm³/h syngas plant, 80,000 t (purified) Neopentyl glycol (NPG) plant, 110,000 tonnes/year methanol plant, 40,000 tonnes/year citral plant, and supporting public works and auxiliary facilities.
Non-ionic surfactants
The NIS plant produces non-ionic surfactants (NIS) from refined ethylene oxide (EO), monoethylene glycol (MEG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) produced in the EO/EG plant, as well as purchased PO, C12-C14 alcohols, tridecanol (TDN), dipropylene glycol (DPG), 1,2-propanediol (MPG), 2-propylheptanol and castor oil.
