Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Wuhan Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics that in the first half of the year, the consumer price index (CPI) of Wuhan rose 2.7% year on year, 0.5 percentage points more than in the first quarter, 1.1 percentage points more than in the same period last year, higher than the average level of the whole country (2.2%) and Hubei Province (2.4%). Among them, food prices rose by 6.0%, non-food prices by 1.9%, consumer prices by 2.9% and service prices by 2.4%.

Fresh vegetable and fruit prices rose the most

According to food classification, the prices of 14 kinds of food in the survey increased by 85.7%. Among them, fresh melons and fruits rose the most, by 24.5%, an increase of 18.3 percentage points over the same period last year, affecting CPI by 0.43 percentage points.

Reporter learned from a supermarket on Zhongbei Road in Wuchang that fruit prices have been at a high level in recent years, with the price of apples reaching 12-15 yuan/kg. In terms of fruit in the season, the price of watermelon is around 3 yuan per kilogram, plum is 12 yuan per kilogram and peach is about 6-8 yuan per kilogram. "Last year the grapes were 8 yuan per kilogram, and this year they were 13 yuan per kilogram." Aunt Zhang, a consumer, said that she bought five oranges and two kilograms of litchi yesterday for 67 yuan. "Fruit is more expensive than meat, and I can hardly afford it."

In response, the Wuhan Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics analyzed the main reasons for this: first, the northern spring suffered from the cold weather in the late spring last year, the main apple and pear producing areas suffered a large reduction in production, and this year the stock was insufficient; second, the southern rainy weather this year was more, and the fresh fruit was green and yellow in season.

Except for fruit, the price of meat increased. In the first half of the year, pork prices rose by 3.6%, beef prices by 8.0%, mutton prices by 13.7%, chicken, duck and egg prices by 6.3%, 2.8% and 4.5%, respectively. The main reason for the increase is the increasing demand for cattle and mutton, coupled with the rapid rise in feed and transportation costs; in addition, the number of live pigs dropped, and the market supply was tight.

In addition, the prices of residential, clothing and educational services also increased to varying degrees, which were 1.9%, 3.0% and 7% respectively. Wuhan CPI is located in the upstream level of similar cities in China. From the national and provincial point of view, the increase of CPI in Wuhan is higher than that in the whole country and province, and is located in the upstream level of similar cities in the whole country. In the first half of the year, the CPI of the whole country increased by 2.2% year-on-year, and that of Hubei Province by 2.4%. The CPI of Wuhan increased by 0.5% year-on-year and 0.3% year-on-year. From the horizontal comparison, Wuhan's CPI growth ranked third among 36 large and medium-sized cities in the country (26th in the same period last year) and ranked the highest in the upstream. From the perspective of commodity composition, the growth rate of Wuhan is lower than the average level of 36 large and medium-sized cities, including food, tobacco, alcohol, educational and cultural goods and entertainment, which are 1.4 percentage points lower and 0.2 percentage points lower respectively; the growth rate is higher than the average level of clothing, housing, daily necessities and services, transportation and communications, other goods and services, and health care. It's flat. It ranked third among 19 sub-provincial and above cities (16th in the same period last year). It ranked first among the six central cities (third in the same period last year).

The Wuhan Investigation Team of the National Statistical Bureau said that with the arrival of summer and the elimination of extreme weather, fresh vegetable prices continued to run smoothly; with the increase of fruit varieties and the large number of local melons and fruits on the market, the price of fresh melons and fruits will be somewhat reversed; the price of pork rose rapidly in the early stage, and the enthusiasm of farmers to fill the hurdles will increase accordingly, and then Expectations will come down somewhat. It is anticipated that CPI growth will remain stable and rising in the whole year, with a limited increase.
