In 2018, China's 'three new' economic added value accounted for 16.1% of GDP.

According to the Statistical Classification of New Industries and New Business Modes (2018) and the Accounting Method for Value Added of New Industries and New Business Modes, preliminary calculation shows that the value added of the "three new" economy in China in 2018 is 14536.9 billion yuan, equivalent to 16.1% of GDP, which is 0.3 percentage points higher than that of the previous year. The growth rate was 12.2%, 2.5 percentage points higher than the current GDP growth rate in the same period. In terms of three industries, the added value of the primary industry of the "three new" economy is 622.7 billion yuan, which is equivalent to 0.7% of GDP; the added value of the secondary industry of the "three new" economy is 6245.3 billion yuan, which is equivalent to 6.9% of GDP; and the added value of the tertiary industry of the "three new" economy is 7668.9 billion yuan, which is equivalent to 8.5% of GDP. In 2018, the secondary industry of the "three new" economy developed rapidly, and the present price of added value increased by 15.1%, an increase of 3.2 percentage points over the previous year.
