Agricultural Experts and Scholars Contribute to Agricultural Modernization

"With the development of information technology, especially Internet technology, sensor technology, mobile interconnection technology and artificial intelligence technology, agriculture has rapidly become the industry most affected by big data and most changed." Xu WHO, chief scientist of the agricultural monitoring and early warning team of the Information Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said in Chongqing on July 27. On the same day, the "Intelligent Agriculture Summit Forum" was held in Chongqing, with the theme of "Intelligent Big Data into High Efficiency Agricultural Enabling with Modern Mountain Characteristics". Domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the agricultural industry contribute their wisdom to the modernization of China's agriculture.
Tang Ke, Director of Marketing and Informatization Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, said in her speech that in recent years, the development of agricultural and rural informatization in China has been characterized by networking, integration and whole process. "Agricultural and rural informationization is no longer confined to an independent agricultural production process, a single business environment or a limited area or region, but is expanding horizontally and vertically, infiltrating into various fields such as agricultural production, operation, management and service." Tangke said.
"In a vast farmland, sensors are arranged on the ground and UAVs are hovering in the sky. The sensors transmit water, fertilizer, crop growth, pests and diseases in the soil to the cloud, and the cloud transmits the calculated data to the farm workers on the ground. The workers control the driverless through wireless remote sensing. Tractors perform sowing, fertilization, harvesting and irrigation. Chen Zhikui, director of the Institute of Big Data, Dalian University of Technology, painted a scenario map of smart agriculture. In Chen Zhikui's eyes, such a smart agricultural scene should be the future of China's agricultural development. Agricultural production involves many factors, and good factors of production can produce good agricultural products. Unlike traditional agriculture, smart agriculture can make some factors of production more efficient and beneficial. Mohamed Jamal Deen, academician of both the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Engineering, shared with his team the latest frontier research on intelligent water quality monitoring and sensing technology, demonstrating the perceptual application technology of the Internet of Things in agricultural production from the perspective of the development of the world's smart agriculture.
"Agriculture enters the digital age, equipment intellectualization will play an important role, and the most typical representative of intellectualization is agricultural robots." Zhao Chunjiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Agricultural Information Engineering Research Center, believes that agricultural robots can create a new future for agriculture. From the point of view of national agricultural development, there is an important demand to enrich the human brain with computers, replace human resources with machines, and replace imports independently. "Field operations should be precise, agriculture should be intelligent, agricultural machinery management should be digital, network management should be service-oriented, and intelligent agriculture should be the direction." Where is the most fundamental foothold of smart agriculture? Wang Xiaobing, director of the Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, believes that building digital agricultural products can break through the bottleneck of agricultural development resources, realize the organic connection between small farmers and modern agricultural development, and foster and strengthen the rural digital economy. In the process of building digital agricultural products, we should promote the construction of big data in the whole industrial chain of important agricultural products, develop e-commerce in rural areas, and improve the information service level of rural livelihood security.

In exploring the new model of intelligent agriculture, Cao Peng, Vice President of Jingdong Group and Vice President of Digital Science and Technology of Jingdong, pointed out that intellectualization and digitalization have become the major trend of global agriculture and animal husbandry industry. Digital technology has become a new momentum to promote the development of intelligent agriculture, which can help aquaculture enterprises to develop large-scale aquaculture and realize early warning of epidemic prevention and control.
