Thirteen enterprises in Shanxi Province benefited from direct power supply

The reporter learned from Shanxi Economic and Credit Commission that, as one of the ways of Shanxi's industrial guarantee operation, the direct power supply scale of Shanxi's large users reached 18 billion kWh in 2014, which reduced the cost of power enterprises by about 750 million yuan.

Large-user direct power supply refers to the direct purchasing and selling of electricity by power enterprises and power generation enterprises that meet the requirements of access, and it is an important part of deepening the reform of the national electricity market. In November 2013, Shanxi Province began to test the direct power supply for large users of water. Thirteen power enterprises such as Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group, Huasheng Aluminum Industry and Yangquan Coal Calcium Carbidesuccessfully signed contracts with six power generation enterprises and became the first batch of large users direct power supply enterprises in Shanxi Province. The responsible person of Shanxi Economic and Credit Commission said that direct power supply by large users can effectively increase users'choice rights and reduce the middle link of transaction. Users purchase electricity directly from power generation enterprises. Power companies only undertake transmission tasks and collect part of transmission costs, which reduces the cost of power purchase of power utilities. It is also conducive to breaking monopolies, promoting competition and improving efficiency.

"During the operation of direct power supply for large users, the direct purchase price is about 4 cents lower than the current price of thermal power benchmarking pole per degree, which saves the operation cost." Taiyuan City, a large user of direct power supply beneficiary enterprise responsible person said.

Shanxi Economic and Credit Commission said that in the future, priority will be given to emerging industries and high-tech industries, superior raw materials industries, circular economy park enterprises and enterprises with low power consumption per unit product and high energy utilization rate, so as to increase the proportion of direct power supply for large users and increase the direct power supply for large users in an orderly manner.
