Inner Mongolia will build a batch of modern dairy animal provenance bases

From the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and other departments, learned that Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, known as "China's milk tank", will build a number of modern dairy animal seed source bases relying on the advantages of milk source and scientific research, and constantly improve the output level and production efficiency of dairy animal units. Liu Yongzhi, deputy director of the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, introduced that Inner Mongolia is implementing the dairy animal genetic improvement plan, speeding up the construction of core breeding farms, supporting the joint breeding of cattle breeding stations and breeding cow farms, planning to breed bulls within the top 100 in domestic and international rankings, breeding Mongolian horse and Bactrian camel breeds, breeding localized dairy sheep breeds, and building the core of high-yielding dairy animals. Group, support the promotion of the use of sex-controlled frozen semen along the Yellow River Basin dairy owners in Qixian County, to accelerate the increase of dairy cattle herd. It is reported that Inner Mongolia has established a dairy cattle progeny testing center, with top domestic breeding, reproduction and technical service teams, mastering molecular breeding, stem cell breeding, genome-wide selection and gender control technology, which can provide efficient breeding technology support for embryo transfer and backup cattle breeding. Livestock sex control technology is leading at home and abroad, becoming the second largest sex control frozen semen production base in the world. At the same time, Inner Mongolia encourages dairy and livestock breeding enterprises to set up seed industry groups in a market-oriented way and build an integrated base of seed resources research, production and operation. Relying on the technical system of dairy industry and animal husbandry and veterinary extension agencies, we will intensify the integrated demonstration and promotion of key technologies to further enhance the output level of dairy cows. Inner Mongolia is located in the "golden milk source belt" of the northern hemisphere, with milk production, dairy competitiveness and market share ranking first in the country. In 2018, the region's milk output was 56.56 million tons, processing output was 16.54 billion yuan, and dairy products output was 25.48 million tons, forming five major milk industry belts along the Yellow River, Xiliao River, Nenjiang River, Hulunbeir and Xilingol grassland.
