The deficit of service trade in the first three quarters shrank by 9.8%

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Commerce, China's total import and export of services reached 4022.8 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year increase of 3%, 0.4 percentage points higher than that in the first half of this year. Among them, the service export increased by 9.4% year-on-year, the service import decreased by 0.2%, the final trade deficit narrowed to 118.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 128.88 billion yuan, a reduction of 9.8%. According to the relevant director of the service trade department of the Ministry of Commerce, the first three quarters of China's service trade continued a steady and positive development trend, with rapid growth of service exports and strong growth of knowledge intensive service trade. Data shows that in the first three quarters, China's total service exports were 1420.84 billion yuan, imports 2601.96 billion yuan, and the proportion of service exports in service imports and exports increased by 2.1 percentage points year on year. The import and export of knowledge intensive services reached 1370.22 billion yuan, an increase of 11.0% year on year.

Local governments have promoted the development of knowledge intensive service trade by cultivating market players, innovating development models, and strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights. In the first three quarters, the added value of service industry increased by 7.0% year-on-year, maintaining rapid growth, and the business boom continued to expand. In the future, with the continuous release of the effects of a series of policy measures, such as tax reduction and fee reduction, cultivation and expansion of new growth points of goods and service consumption, the development prospect of service industry continued to be good.
