The Chinese Rutile titanium dioxide market remained stable this week. The negotiation prices in some areas moved marginally. Some titanium dioxide units were shut on the environmental protection supervision. The downstream demand was weak and the overall trading was thin. Up to August 31, the mainstream negotiation prices for Rutile Titanium Dioxide were in the range of RMB 15,600-17,000/mt. Some lower prices were heard below RMB 15,500/mt.
Anatase Titanium Dioxide Market Review

The anatase titanium dioxide market moved marginally this week. The overall operating rate was recovering. Downstream users purchased goods on a need-to basis. Up to August 31, the reference prices for Chinese anatase titanium dioxide were in the range of RMB 14,200-15,000/mt. Some lower prices were heard.
Forecast:
Pressured by the environmental protection inspection, the overall operating rate is less than 50%. The overall inventory has become tight. But the downstream demand is also weak. It is predicted that the titanium dioxide market may move sideways in the short term.
