Biological and Agro Chem Should go Hand in Hand: Insecticides India Ltd, MD, Rajesh Aggarwal

One of the leading names in crop protection industry, Insecticides India Limited’s Managing Director Rajesh Aggarwal,who has been in news lately for appointing Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn as its Brand Ambassador, was a guest at the KJ Choupal, Krishi Jagran’s new initiative where eminent personalities from the industry are invited to share their expert’s views and experiences of being in the agriculture industry for decades.

Speaking about appointing Ajay Devgn as its Brand Ambassador and sharing why he zeroed in on this macho man, he shares, “When we look for a brand ambassador, we look for the possibilities and impact that a particular person has on the entire nation. You have to be really careful while planning a brand ambassador since they will be representing the brand everywhere. Ajay Devgn as a celebrity as well as a person has a huge impact on every age group of the country. And that is why we chose him.”

Emphasizing the pertinent role media plays as a bridge between companies and farmers, he adds, “India is a vast country with a huge population, having different dialects and languages. It’s good to see media working with the farmers, who work 365 days, and providing them with the right information.”

Sharing about how farmers need to adapt to new practices, he shares, “Media groups and our companies together can educate the farmers on how and when to use pesticides. It is a continuous work and farmers need to be constantly reminded not to overuse or overdose pesticides.”

Sharing his thoughts on organic farming he adds that biological and agrochemical both methods of farming will co-exist to get better yield. Briefing about his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project ‘Kisan Jagrukta Abhiyan’ he said,“ We conduct several social activities in our company from time to time. Through these CSR activities, we educate the farmers on all the inputs, on the type of crops, what are the crop protection solutions the farmers can have and we are also helping farmers by providing education to their children.”
