Last year, China issued 45.3 trillion yuan of bonds
China's bond market will issue 45.3 trillion yuan of bonds in 2019, an increase of 3.1% over the previous year, according to data released by the people's Bank of China on Tuesday. As of the end of December 2019, the custody balance of bond market is RMB 99.1 trillion, of which the custody balance of inter-bank bond market is RMB 86.4 trillion. In 2019, the current bond trading volume in the bond market was 217.4 trillion yuan, an increase of 38.6% year on year. Among them, the trading volume of cash bonds in the inter-bank bond market was 209.0 trillion yuan, with an average daily turnover of 836.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.6%; the trading volume of cash bonds in the exchange bond market was 8.4 trillion yuan, with an average daily turnover of 34.23 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.3%. Data shows that in 2019, China's bond yield curve moved down as a whole, while the interest rate in the money market fell. In December 2019, the monthly weighted average interest rate of interbank lending in the inter-bank money market was 2.09%, 48 basis points lower than the same period of last year, and the monthly weighted average interest rate of pledged repo was 2.10%, 58 basis points lower than the same period of last year. By the end of 2019, there were 25888 participants in the inter-bank bond market, an increase of 5125 compared with the end of last year. Among them, there are 3082 domestic legal human beings, 240 more than the end of last year; 20196 domestic illegal human products, 3461 more than the end of last year; 2610 overseas institutional investors, 1424 more than the end of last year.
