China TexNet 2017-11-21

The federal govt. is likely to withdraw restrictions on cotton import from Dec. 1, 2017 aimed at allowing textile industry to import raw material at a competitive price. The country’s cotton requirement is around 1.5Mn bales but Cotton Crop Assessment Committee (CCAC) estimates cotton production would be around 12.6Mn bales against the initial estimate of 14.04Mn bales for the current season (2017-18).
