Hemolytic uremic syndrome
Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS): a syndrome characterized by hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and acute renal failure. It is mainly seen in infants and young children. Only dozens of cases have been reported in China, and it is more common in school-age children. This disease is one of the common causes of acute renal failure in children. It has been prevalent in Argentina, North America and South America. There is no special treatment for this disease, and the mortality rate was as high as 77%. In recent years, due to the application of comprehensive treatment, especially early peritoneal dialysis, the mortality rate has dropped to 4.5%.
