High degree atrioventricular block
High-grade atrioventricular block refers to an atrioventricular block with an atrioventricular conduction ratio exceeding 2:1, which may be 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, etc. The block may be located in the atrioventricular node, the His bundle, and the bundle branch-Purkinje system. High-grade atrioventricular block can be divided into two types according to the block site: (1) Type I: Most cases occur at the atrioventricular node level, with a few cases occurring at the proximal end of the His bundle. (2) Type II: All cases occur at the distal end of the His bundle and at the bundle branch.
