Fungal keratitis (mycotic keratitis) or corneal fungal disease (keratomycosis) is difficult to diagnose clinically and is easily misdiagnosed. It often causes blindness due to improper treatment. Fungal keratitis generally has predisposing factors, the most important of which is corneal trauma. In addition, ocular surface diseases, especially abnormal tears, the wearing of contact lenses, and the long-term use of antibiotics and glucocorticoids are also common predisposing factors. Fungal keratitis is not uncommon. In terms of incidence, it is more common in the south than in the north; in a year, the incidence rate is high during the busy farming seasons of summer and autumn. In terms of age and occupation, it is more common in young and middle-aged people, the elderly and farmers.
