Penicillin G sodium salt

Penicillin has good antibacterial effect on Streptococcus such as hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus that does not produce penicillinase. It has moderate antibacterial effect on enterococci, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Streptobacillus candida, Listeria monocytogenes, Leptospira and Treponema pallidum are sensitive to this product. This product also has certain antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis, and other Gram-negative aerobic or facultative anaerobic bacteria are less sensitive to this product. This product has good antibacterial effect on Clostridium, Peptostreptococcus anaerobic bacteria and melanin-producing Bacteroides, but has poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis. Penicillin exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Penicillin G potassium salt

Chloramphenicol, erythromycin, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides may interfere with the activity of this product; probenecid, aspirin, indomethacin, phenylbutazone, and sulfonamides may reduce the renal tubular secretion of penicillin and prolong the serum half-life of this product; penicillin may enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin; it is incompatible with heavy metals (especially copper, zinc, and mercury); turbidity may occur after adding cephalothin, lincomycin, tetracycline, vancomycin, erythromycin ethylsuccinate, amphotericin B, norepinephrine, metaraminol, phenytoin sodium, hydroxyzine hydrochloride, prochlorperazine, promethazine, vitamin B group, vitamin C group, etc. to the intravenous infusion; dripping with aminoglycoside antibiotics in the same bottle may reduce the antibacterial activity of both.

This product is a semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic. It has antibacterial effects on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, Serratia, Acinetobacter, and Gram-positive cocci sensitive to penicillin. It has a bactericidal effect in large doses. Its antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Enterobacter, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter, Serratia, and Acinetobacter is stronger than carbenicillin and ampicillin; its antibacterial activity against indole-positive Proteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is stronger than carbenicillin and sulbenicillin; its antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus is similar to that of carbenicillin, and its antibacterial activity against Streptococcus faecalis is superior to that of carbenicillin and sulbenicillin. It has good antibacterial effect against most anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis.
