Function and Efficacy

This product is a complex of antacids and bismuth agents. It can play an anti-peptic ulcer role through multiple pathways such as inhibiting gastric acid secretion, inhibiting pepsin, inhibiting Helicobacter pylori, and forming a protective isolation layer on the surface of the gastric mucosa. Ranitidine is a reversible and competitive histamine H2 receptor (including the receptor of gastric cells) antagonist. It will not reduce the serum calcium ion concentration under hypercalcemia and is not an anticholinergic drug. Clinical studies have shown that ranitidine can inhibit basal gastric acid secretion and gastric acid secretion caused by aminopyrazole and pentagastrin stimulation. Among them, the inhibitory effect on basal gastric acid secretion and gastric acid secretion caused by aminopyrazole stimulation is the most obvious, while the inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion caused by pentagastrin stimulation is relatively poor. Ranitidine does not affect the secretion of pepsin and endogenous factors caused by pentagastrin stimulation.

Appearance

This product is off-white to slightly yellow tablets.

Indication

Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, Helicobacter pylori infection.

Usage and Dosage

Orally before meals, 1 tablet each time for adults, 2 times a day. The course of treatment should not exceed 6 weeks. The dosage and course of treatment combined with antibiotics should be as prescribed by the doctor.

Adverse Reactions

1. Nausea, rash, constipation, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and insomnia may occur. Black tongue coating and gray-brown stools disappear on their own after stopping the drug. 2. A small number of patients experience mild increases in ALT, AST, and serum creatinine after taking the drug. 3. Occasionally, mental states such as disorientation, drowsiness, and anxiety may occur after taking the drug. 4. Ranitidine-related adverse reactions may also occur, including blood system: granulocytopenia, cardiovascular system: bradycardia, reproductive endocrine system: reversible impotence, male breast development. The above situations occur very rarely.

Drug Interactions

1 When used in combination with clarithromycin, the concentrations of serum ranitidine, bismuth citrate and 14-hydroxyclarithromycin increased by 57%, 48% and 31% respectively; 2 When used in combination with large doses of antacids (170mEq), the serum ranitidine concentration decreased by 28%, and the serum bismuth citrate concentration also decreased; 3 When used in combination with aspirin, the absorption of acetylsalicylic acid decreased slightly; 4 Food can reduce the absorption of bismuth. Experiments have shown that taking 800mg of ranitidine citrate bismuth after a meal can reduce its absorption rate and absorption by 50% and 25% respectively compared with taking it half an hour before a meal, but it does not affect the clinical efficacy.
