Appearance
This product is white or off-white powder, or crystalline powder, odorless, tasteless, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, acetone, ether, and chloroform; it is easily decomposed by light.
Indication
It is mainly used for solid tumors such as small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular tumors, head and neck cancer and malignant lymphoma, etc. It has good curative effect. It can also be used for other tumors such as cervical cancer, bladder cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.
Usage and Dosage
(1) Intravenous drip or intravenous injection: One-time administration, 300~400mg/m2 each time, repeated every 28 days, children can increase to 560mg/m2; continuous administration for 5 days, 100mg/time, or 50~70mg/m2 each time. Dilute with normal saline or 5% glucose injection. (2) Intrathoracic and abdominal injection: The dose is higher than intravenous administration.
Adverse Reactions
Hematotoxicity: Bone marrow suppression is the dose-limiting toxicity of carboplatin. White blood cells and platelets drop to the lowest level 14 to 24 days after injection, and generally return to normal levels in 35 to 41 days. It should be used with caution or in reduced doses for patients with white blood cells below 4000/mm3 and platelets below 80,000/mm3. Generally, patients with poor physical fitness, patients ≥ 65 years old, and patients undergoing retreatment after intensive chemotherapy experience more severe bone marrow suppression that lasts longer. Bone marrow suppression can be aggravated when carboplatin is used in combination with other bone marrow toxic drugs or with radiotherapy. However, as long as it is used reasonably and appropriately, bone marrow suppression is reversible and will not produce cumulative effects. It has been reported that complications of infection and hemoglobin in patients treated with carboplatin accounted for 4% and 6%, respectively. Among patients with normal hemoglobin, 71% of patients developed hemoglobin after treatment.
Precautions
1. Patients with obvious bone marrow suppression and renal insufficiency. 2. Patients allergic to other platinum preparations and mannitol. 3. Pregnant women and patients with severe complications. 4. Patients who have previously used cisplatin should use with caution. 5. Patients with severe liver and kidney damage are prohibited from using this drug.
