Ambroxol Hydrochloride Injection

The toxicity index of ambroxol in acute toxicity tests is very low. Ambroxol is not mutagenic (Ames and micronucleus tests). Carcinogenicity studies in mice and rats show that ambroxol is not carcinogenic.

Ambroxol hydrochloride (also known as ambroxol hydrochloride). Excipients: citric acid monohydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate. Sodium chloride, water for injection, nitrogen.

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

It is suitable for acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by abnormal sputum secretion and poor expectoration function, such as acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and bronchial asthma. It is also used for preventive treatment of postoperative pulmonary complications.

Adults and children over 12 years old: 2-3 times a day, 15 mg each time, in severe cases, the dose can be increased to 30 mg each time; children aged 6-12 years old: 2-3 times a day, 15 mg each time; children aged 2-6 years old: 3 times a day, 7.5 mg each time; children under 2 years old: 2 times a day, 7.5 mg each time. All are slow intravenous drips.

Ambroxol hydrochloride is generally well tolerated. Mild upper gastrointestinal side effects are occasionally reported (mainly heartburn, indigestion, and occasionally nausea and vomiting), and allergic reactions are rare, mainly rash. Severe acute allergic reactions have been reported in rare cases, but their relevance to ambroxol hydrochloride is uncertain, and some of these patients are usually allergic to other substances.

It should not be used by patients with known hypersensitivity to ambroxol hydrochloride or other ingredients of the formula.

Precautions for children: See [Usage and Dosage]. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Preclinical trials and a large amount of clinical experience after 28 weeks of pregnancy show that there is no adverse effect on pregnancy. However, during pregnancy, especially in the first three months of pregnancy, the drug should be used with caution. The drug can enter breast milk, but the therapeutic dose should have no effect on the baby. Precautions for the elderly: No special precautions.

Synergistic treatment of ambroxol hydrochloride with antibiotics (amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline) can increase the concentration of antibiotics in lung tissue, and no clinically relevant adverse reactions have been reported with other drugs.
