Salsalate Tablets

This product is non-acetylated salicylic acid. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects are similar to aspirin, but it does not inhibit platelet aggregation.

The main ingredient of this product is: disalsalate. Its chemical name is: 2-hydroxybenzoic acid-2-carboxyphenyl ester. Molecular formula: C14H10O5 Molecular weight: 258.22

This product is white tablets.

Used to relieve various types of pain, including headache, toothache, neuralgia, joint pain, soft tissue inflammation and other moderate pain.

Oral administration: Adults take 1-2 tablets at a time, 2-3 times a day.

This product has less gastric irritation than aspirin, and has a lower cross-allergic reaction with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs than aspirin. When used in large doses with oral anticoagulants, bleeding may occur.

① Patients who are allergic to this product or have a history of asthma are prohibited from using disalsalate. ② The following patients should avoid using disalsalate: those with severe liver disease, hemorrhagic disease or those receiving anticoagulant treatment. ③ Patients with arteriosclerosis and hypertension, recent cerebral hemorrhage or the elderly and infirm are prohibited from using disalsalate.

① Salsalate can enhance the hypoglycemic effect of sulfonylurea drugs and displace methotrexate from the protein binding site, so the dose of methotrexate should be reduced when used in combination with such drugs. ② When used in combination with anticoagulants (heparin sodium, warfarin sodium), close attention should be paid to the coagulation reaction.
