Function and Efficacy

This product is a vitamin drug. Vitamin C participates in amino acid metabolism, synthesis of neurotransmitters, synthesis of collagen and tissue cell matrix, can reduce the permeability of capillaries, and accelerate blood coagulation. It stimulates coagulation function, promotes iron absorption in the intestine, promotes the decrease of blood lipids, increases resistance to infection, participates in detoxification, and has anti-histamine effect and prevents the formation of carcinogens (nitrosamines).

Indication

Applicable to: prevention and treatment of scurvy and various acute and chronic infectious diseases and auxiliary treatment of purpura, large-dose intravenous injection for Keshan disease, rescue in cardiogenic shock. This product can also be used for the treatment of chronic iron poisoning and idiopathic methemoglobinemia. The following situations increase the need for vitamin C: 1. Patients receiving chronic hemodialysis, gastrointestinal diseases (long-term diarrhea, gastric or ileal resection), tuberculosis, cancer, ulcer disease, hyperthyroidism, fever, infection, trauma, burns, surgery, etc. 2. Patients who receive parenteral nutrition due to strict control or selection of diet, malnutrition, sudden weight loss, and during pregnancy and lactation. 3. When using barbiturates, tetracyclines, salicylates, or vitamin C as a urinary system acidifier.

Usage and Dosage

Intramuscular or intravenous injection, 0.1g-0.25g per time for adults, 1-3 times a day; 0.1g-0.3g per day for children, divided into several injections. Large doses can be used to treat Keshan disease, and the doctor's advice must be followed.

Adverse Reactions

This product generally has no obvious adverse reactions when using physiological dose replacement therapy. Adverse reactions mostly occur when using pharmacological doses, and are closely related to the course of treatment, dosage, type of medication, usage and route of administration. Common adverse reactions are as follows: 1. Long-term use may cause the following side effects: iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome face and posture, weight gain, lower limb edema, purple lines, bleeding tendency, poor wound healing, acne, menstrual disorders, avascular necrosis of the humeral or femoral head, osteoporosis and fractures (including vertebral compression fractures, long bone pathological fractures), muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, hypokalemia syndrome, gastrointestinal irritation (nausea, vomiting), pancreatitis, peptic ulcer or perforation, growth inhibition in children, glaucoma, cataracts, benign intracranial hypertension syndrome, impaired glucose tolerance and aggravation of diabetes. 2. Patients may experience mental symptoms: euphoria, agitation, delirium, restlessness, disorientation, and may also manifest as inhibition. Psychiatric symptoms are particularly prone to occur in people with chronic wasting diseases and those who have had mental disorders in the past. 3. Concurrent infection is the main adverse reaction of adrenocortical hormones. Fungi, tuberculosis, Staphylococcus, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and various herpes viruses are the main ones. 4. Glucocorticoid withdrawal syndrome: Sometimes patients experience dizziness, fainting tendency, abdominal pain or back pain, low fever, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, muscle or joint pain, headache, fatigue, and weakness after stopping the drug. If careful examination can rule out adrenocortical insufficiency and recurrence of the original disease, it can be considered as a glucocorticoid dependence syndrome.

Precautions

Patients who are allergic to this product and other steroid hormones are prohibited from using it. Patients with the following diseases should not use it in general. In special cases, the pros and cons should be weighed, but attention should be paid to the possibility of worsening of the condition: severe mental illness (past or present) and epilepsy, active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal anastomosis, fractures, trauma repair period, corneal ulcer, hyperadrenocortical syndrome, hypertension, diabetes, pregnant women, fungal infections that cannot be controlled by antibiotics, chickenpox, measles, severe osteoporosis, etc.

Drug Interactions

1 Large doses of vitamin C can interfere with the anticoagulant effect of anticoagulants. 2 When used in combination with barbiturates or primidone, it can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 3 Sodium cellulose phosphate can promote the metabolism of vitamin C into oxalate. 4 Long-term or large-scale use of vitamin C can interfere with the effect of disulfiram on ethanol. 5 Salicylic acid can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 6 It should not be used in combination with alkaline drugs (such as aminophylline, sodium bicarbonate, sodium glutamate, etc.), riboflavin, chlorobutanol, copper, and iron ion (trace) solutions, so as not to affect the efficacy. 7 It should not be used in combination with vitamin K3, because the latter has oxygen.
