What  is Chondroitin Sulphate / Chondroitin Sulfate ?

Chondroitin Sulfate is a chemical that is normally found in cartilage around joints in the body. Chondroitin sulfate is manufactured from animal sources, such as cow cartilage.

Chondroitin sulfate is an important structural component of cartilage and provides much of its resistance to compression. Along with glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate has become a widely used dietary supplement for treatment of osteoarthritis. Chondroitin is present in the lining of blood vessels, and it helps promote normal blood flow throughout the body. In fact, chondroitin has been found to be chemically similar to the blood thinner, heparin. Chondroitin supplementation may help treat conditions linked to the deterioration of these linings, such as chronic venous insufficiency, ulcerative colitis, and congestive heart failure. 1.Chondroitin sulfate is used for osteoarthritis. It is often used in combination with other products, including manganese ascorbate, glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride or N-acetyl glucosamineN-. Research from acouple of decades ago showed that chondroitin sulfate helped arthritis painwhen taken with conventional medicines for pain and swelling. But later research wasn't so positive. Now, scientists believe that, overall, chondroitinsulfate may reduce arthritis slightly.
