Sertraline is an antidepressant that can efficiently and selectively inhibit the reuptake of serotonin. Animal experiments have confirmed that it can regulate the β -adrenergic receptor downward. Its potency in inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin is 12 times greater than that of fluvoxamine and 5 times stronger than that of fluoxetine. 21 times stronger than Amitlin. It does not affect the reuptake of dopamine . It has no obvious affinity for muscarinic and histamine H1 receptors, and therefore has no obvious anticholinergic and sedative effects. It is mainly used for the treatment of depression and the prevention of its attacks. It is also used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, and long-term medication can maintain the therapeutic effect.
It is used to treat the related symptoms of depression, including depression accompanied by anxiety and with or without a history of mania.
