   Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, also called sodium pyrophosphate, tetrasodium phosphate or TSPP, is a colorless transparent crystalline chemical compound with the formula Na4P2O7. It is a salt composed of pyrophosphate and sodium ions. Toxicity is approximately twice that of table salt when ingested orally. There is also a hydrated form, Na4P2O7· 10(H2O).

Application Area

As food quality improver, PH regulator, metal ion chelating agent, emulsifying dispersant, adhesives and so on in food industry. Used in meat and aquatic products processing, it can improve water holding capacity, make meat tender, stabilize natural pigments, prevent fat spoilage, in addition, it is also used in fermentation powder, cheese manufacturing, etc.

1.Sodium pyrophosphate is used to prepare electroplating solution in electroplating industry, which can form complex with iron.
2.In the wool industry it is used as a wool degreaser and bleaching agent. Bleaching of paper and plant fibres in the papermaking industry.
3.Printing and dyeing industry as printing and dyeing, precision bleaching agent. As an additive in toothpaste, it can form a colloid with calcium hydrophosphate and play a stabilizing role. 
4.It can also be used in the synthesis of detergent and the production of shampoo and other products. Water treatment as a soft agent.
5.It is used as a rust remover in machining and as dispersant and emulsifier in chemical industry.
