    Improvement plan for production process to improve the purity of manganese carbonate


    1、 Optimization of raw material pretreatment
    1. Raw material grading screening and impurity removal
    Magnetic separation technology: For manganese ores containing magnetic impurities such as Fe and Ni, a high gradient magnetic separator (HGMS) is used to remove magnetic particles, which can reduce the Fe ₂ O3 content in the raw material from 0.5% to below 0.1%.
    Heavy liquid sorting: using zinc chloride or sodium bromide solution (density 2.5-3.0 g/cm ³) to separate vein minerals with large density differences (such as quartz and calcite), improving the purity of manganese ore raw materials to over 90%.


    2. Optimization of acid leaching process
    Segmented acid leaching control: Control the sulfuric acid concentration in stages (initial 20-25%, endpoint 10-15%), combined with temperature gradient (60 ℃ → 85 ℃), to promote the preferential dissolution of MnCO3 and reduce the leaching amount of impurities such as Ca and Mg (by 30-40%).
    Adding chelating agent: Add citric acid (dosage 0.5-1.0%) to the acid leaching solution to form stable complexes with Fe ³ ⁺ and Al ³ ⁺, avoiding their hydrolysis to form colloidal adsorption of manganese ions and improving the purity of manganese ions.


    3、 Fine control of crystallization process


    1. Optimization of reaction crystallization parameters
    Step wise addition of ammonium bicarbonate: Drop NH ₄ HCO Ⅲ solution (concentration 15-20%) into the manganese salt solution at a rate of 0.5-1.0 mL/min, while controlling the reaction temperature at 40-50 ℃, pH=7.5-8.0, Avoid local supersaturation that can lead to co precipitation of impurities.
    Ultrasonic assisted crystallization: Introduce ultrasonic waves (power 200-300 W) into the crystallization kettle to destroy the eutectic structure of impurities and MnCO3, resulting in a uniform distribution of crystal particle size (D50=10-15 μ m) and a reduction of impurity encapsulation rate by more than 50%.


    2. Improvement of washing and drying processes
    Multi stage countercurrent washing: Use deionized water (conductivity<10 μ S/cm) for 3 times of countercurrent washing, combined with ethanol displacement (volume ratio 1:1), to remove surface adsorbed anions such as SO ₄² ⁻ and Cl ⁻ (residual<10 ppm).
    Vacuum low-temperature drying: Dry under vacuum degree of -0.08 MPa and temperature of 60-70 ℃ to avoid MnCO3 decomposition or reaction with O ₂ in the air, ensuring product purity ≥ 99.5%.
    Through the above process improvements, the purity of manganese carbonate products can be increased from 98-99% in traditional processes to over 99.5%, meeting the needs of high-end fields such as lithium battery cathode materials and high-purity reagents, while reducing production costs by 10-15%.
