Description
Plafibride is an aromatic ether.|Plafibride is an acyl derivative of morpholinomethylurea (MMU) with clofibric acid with antihyperlipidemic activity. In trials plafibride showed better gastric tolerance and a lower incidence of adverse events than did clofibrate.
Drug Information
Drugs or agents which antagonize or impair any mechanism leading to blood platelet aggregation, whether during the phases of activation and shape change or following the dense-granule release reaction and stimulation of the prostaglandin-thromboxane system. (See all compounds classified as Platelet Aggregation Inhibitors.)|Substances that lower the levels of certain LIPIDS in the BLOOD. They are used to treat HYPERLIPIDEMIAS. (See all compounds classified as Hypolipidemic Agents.)
