Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method is to put the flake caustic soda and water into the reaction kettle, stir until the caustic soda is completely dissolved into a nearly 50% NaOH solution, and then add arsenic trioxide (arsenic) into the lye. After the arsenic trioxide is added, stir at 80℃ for 2h to make it into Sodium arsenate solution, all the solution is injected into the methylation kettle, the temperature is raised to 85°C, dimethyl sulfate is slowly dripped, and the esterification temperature is controlled between 87-93°C, and the input time is about 2.5-3h. After all the addition, continue to keep the temperature at 90℃ and react for 2h, then add 10% alkaline water to the reactor, increase the temperature at 90~95℃ and react for 1h, stop heating, add the last batch of filtrate, stir and cool to below 40℃, filter, filter cake with 5 Wash with% alkaline water and spin dry to obtain disodium methyl arsenate. Add disodium methyl arsenate to the melting kettle, add water to dissolve and stir, then pour into the enamel reduction kettle, adjust the pH to 7-8 with sulfuric acid, then heat to 90°C, pass through sulfur dioxide, and carry out the reduction reaction. When the pH=3~ 4 Stop the sulfur dioxide, heat the reaction for 1 hour, then increase the temperature to 90°C to drive off the unreacted sulfur dioxide for 1 hour, and then lower the temperature to 60°C to obtain the finished product. As2O3+6NaOH→2Na3AsO3+3H2ONa3AsO3+(CH3)2SO4→CH3AsO(ONa)2+CH3NaSO4CH3AsO(ONa)2+SO2→CH3AsO+Na2SO4

Uses

Methyl arsenic oxide is an intermediate of the fungicide formaldehyde arsine and Tianan. Formaldehyde arsine is mainly used to formulate detoxification and prevent rice sheath blight.
