(4-Methoxyphenyl)thiourea Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is derived from the addition of p-methoxyaniline hydrochloride and sodium thiocyanate. Add 350L of water into the glass-lined reaction pot, heat it to 60°C, add 220kg of p-anisidine under stirring to make it completely dissolved. Then add 220kg of 30% industrial hydrochloric acid to make the material liquid slightly blue to the Congo red test paper. After maintaining for 10 minutes, add 166.7kg (100%) of sodium thiocyanate. Heat, slowly raise the temperature to 105°C and reflux for 24h. Then it is cooled to below 25°C and filtered. The filter cake is washed with water and dried to obtain 300 kg of p-methoxyphenyl thiourea.
