Metronidazole Use and Manufacturing

Microbiocide.It has a strong antibacterial effect on most anaerobic bacteria. Used to treat amoebiasis, trichomoniasis and anaerobic infections This product has been used for the treatment of vaginal trichomoniasis in 1959, and has been used for intestinal and extra-intestinal amoebiasis since 1970. It has high curative effect, low toxicity and wide application. It has mutagenic and teratogenic effects on animal experiments.

Indication	1. This product can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, enhance their effects, and cause the prothrombin time to be prolonged. 2. The simultaneous use of drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes, such as phenytoin sodium and phenobarbital, can enhance the metabolism of this product, reduce blood drug concentration, and slow down the excretion of phenytoin sodium. 3. The simultaneous use of drugs that inhibit the activity of liver microsomal enzymes, such as cimetidine, can slow down the metabolism and excretion of this product in the liver, and prolong the serum half-life of this product. The dosage should be adjusted according to the results of blood drug concentration determination. 4. This product interferes with disulfiram metabolism. Patients who use both together may experience mental symptoms after drinking. Therefore, patients who have used disulfiram within 2 weeks should not use this product again. 5. This product can interfere with the results of aminotransferase and LDH determinations, and can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
